Some Twists at the End | A Poem by JD DeHart

The structure seemed sound
until the mid-film reveal.
The main character, the villain.
We thought she was an angel,
but there are prongs of horn
and flick of insidious tail.
She is like us, a blending, noble
in one frame, weak in the next.
Then the denouement follows
and it is calculated discovery.
