Poems and Poetry

Words | A Poem by Krushna Chandra Mishra

Who says words hurt,
who says words do please,
why say words at all
in silence if so much
desirable understanding lies.

Words and words
nevertheless will crowd
the empty spaces
where only expectations grow
where only culture breathes.

Beware of the weight
the contexts indicate;
follow them;
the rest will be what
you may like to feel,
you may like to use.
