The Sound of One Universe Breathing | A Poem by Christine Emmert

When even the crickets have given up song,
and the comets lost their voices in a hoarse pursuit of
orbit,
I can listen to the sound that makes no noise
except in the heart — not the ear — of the listener.
Beauty does not sing, but
breathes!
